Our History

Since 2012, The Turbo Shop has been a trusted name in the South African turbocharger industry delivering reliable, high-quality turbocharger solutions for both private vehicle owners and commercial fleets.

When Gareth and Justin took over the business in 2019, they brought with them a renewed vision: to transform the turbocharger remanufacturing industry through ethical practices, exceptional workmanship, and uncompromising quality control. The business quickly evolved, relocating from Greenbushes to a modern, fully equipped facility in Newton Park, Port Elizabeth complete with cutting-edge diagnostic and testing equipment. This move allowed us to detect problems before a turbo is even removed, reducing downtime and saving our client’s money.

But we didn’t stop there.

We recognized that the challenges facing the turbocharger industry, such as poor workmanship, lack of regulation, and widespread quality control issues, were not unique to Port Elizabeth. These systemic problems existed across South Africa. So, we expanded with a second branch in George, Western Cape, with the goal of bringing our standard of excellence to more people.
